What it costs, and what you may do with it

Nothing, and a great deal. The extension is free, and its source is public under the GNU General Public License v3 or later at github.com/avi12/cyberpunk-2077-new-tab.

That licence is what actually governs the code - use it, study it, change it, pass it on, all on its terms. If anything on this page ever seems to contradict it, the licence wins.

The companion app is a separate thing

Cyberpunk Journeys is an optional app that hands the extension Edge's local Copilot journeys and tips. It is paid and closed source - $5 once, not a subscription - and it is sold through the Microsoft Store, so buying it is covered by the Store's terms and the app's own licence rather than by this page. It runs on Windows only, and only with Microsoft Edge - those journeys and tips are Edge's, and no other browser has them. The extension is complete without it - nothing here requires it.

Not affiliated with CD PROJEKT RED

This is a fan project. Cyberpunk and Cyberpunk 2077 are trademarks of CD PROJEKT S.A. I am not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by CD PROJEKT S.A. or CD PROJEKT RED, and this is not an official product.

No game assets are bundled. The interface is my own reading of the game's look, and even the sounds are synthesised as they play, from measurements rather than recordings - the recordings are CDPR's and they stay theirs.

Services it talks to

A few features reach outside your browser - the weather, the clock's time source, the greeting's optional Google sign-in. Each of those is somebody else's service, running on somebody else's terms, and I can't promise any of them will stay available or keep answering the way they do today. The privacy policy names every one of them and says exactly what is sent where.

What I ask of you

Only the obvious: don't use the extension to break the law, and don't pass a modified build off as the official one. The GPL already spells out what you may do with the code, and it is generous.

No warranty

The extension is provided as is, with no warranty of any kind. I can't promise it suits you, that it runs without faults, or that it keeps working when a browser or one of those services changes underneath it.

So keep a copy of anything you would hate to lose. The settings panel can write a snapshot of your settings and netlinks to your browser account, and that snapshot is the only safety net there is.

Liability

As far as the law allows, I am not liable for any loss that comes of using the extension - lost data and lost time included. Where the law does not allow a limit that broad, the limit is the narrowest one it permits.

Changes, and ending it

The extension changes as I work on it: features arrive, and now and then one leaves. If these terms change, the date at the top changes with them, and every revision is public in the repository. Carrying on using the extension after a change means you accept it.

You can end this whenever you like by uninstalling. There is nothing of yours for me to delete afterwards, because nothing of yours ever reached me.
